About Us

Well, the best place to start is probably the name. TP7 is the alias that we work under, and despite its complete randomness, there is reasons for it (if you want to know why we are called TP7, just ask!). There's 2 of us, Samson and Tristan. We are both Christians, part of a church known as The Jesus Fellowship.

Samson

So I started off my musical life when I started lessons for the Drums at the age of 12. Since then I've always had a passion for music and have always longed to make music that other people could listen to. I started listening to my own personal music when I was 11, with my first album being Pendulum - Hold Your Colour. Since then, electronic music (especially Drum and Bass) has been the main inspiration for my love of music.

I started making music a year ago, learning how to use the software, and learning how to bring a track together. It's helped me to understand how music is built, with the different layers, all which are necessary for making a track that people will love. It's been a steep learning curve for me as a drummer to learn the melodic side of the track, learning what chords go with others and so on. But listening back to the first tracks that I attempted to make, there's been a whole lot of improvement!

I have been a part of the church all my life, born into it because my parents were part of it. I didn't really start getting involved with the church till I was around 13 years old, when I started to make friends with the other people, and building family and brotherhood bonds with them.

The first time I really felt God and His presence in my life was when I was about 15 years old at one of the large festival events that the church hold 3 times a year. Since then it's been a journey of discovering myself in God, and learning to live a life with Him in it.

Being able to combine my love for God and my love for Music is brilliant for Me, because it's a way of outwardly expressing what my life is about, as well as what being a Christian is and should be about. I hope that this will be able to show non-believers, even those that are believers, that there is so much to be gained from living a life with God involved.

Tristan

I made the first step in my music career on my 14th birthday, when I started to learn to play the Electric Guitar. Ever since then, I have been teaching myself how to play various other instruments, including Piano. Ever since I started moving down the musical path, I have developed a fondness for a band named Muse. This band is one of the many artists that I find inspiring, particularly due to their versatility in music genres. They are able to play anything from classical to soft rock to heavy metal to dubstep, which is why they have been a source of inspiration for me.

I'm in pretty much the same boat as Samson on the producing music front; I started creating music with him at around the same time period and I have learnt a lot of the same techniques. One of the things that I've improved on since learning the production side of music is playing the piano; learning the different chord progressions and better transitions between them.

I have been part of the Jesus Fellowship my whole life, and I too was born into it. However, it wasn't until this year in particular that I started "getting to know God more". Around June time, I went on a youth camp to Wales with a bunch of other guys my age,  building relationships together and just getting to know each other as friends. It was at this youth camp, where I really felt God's presence. There and then, I made the choice to get baptised in order to truly connect with God and to be able to live a life with him involved.

During my time with the church, I have had the opportunity of playing with different bands at different events, some bigger than others. Only this year, I was privileged enough to play on Trafalgar Square after the whole church marched (Danced!) through the streets of London. Once every three weeks (or there abouts) I play with a band named New Fires with several other musicians to help lead the worship in our meetings, including Samson!

For me, Music is a form of expression for how I'm feeling inside and being able to create music for people to enjoy, but still have God at the root of it, is just amazing. I want to be able to show people what God has done in my life and what He can and will do in theirs, and music is a great way to portray that!
